The OLV office is staffed from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, during the school year and from 8:00 AM to noon, Monday through Thursday, during the summer. The school day begins at 8:30 AM for all grades, PreK-8, and concludes at 2:50 PM. Half-day preschoolers are dismissed at 11:30. Students arriving between 7:00 AM and 8:15 AM attend before school care. After school care is also available from dismissal until 5:30 PM. In the event of an early release, all students are dismissed at 11:30 and after school care is not available.
Our preschool classes have a 1:10 ratio. Kindergarten to grade 2 have a 1:20 ratio and instructional assistants are assigned to the classrooms throughout the week. Grades 3-8 may have up to 25 students. Instructional assistants are also assigned to these grade levels to facilitate small group and differentiated instruction.
Open houses are held several times per year. Specific dates are listed on the OLV calendar and under the Admissions page. Interested families may arrange a shadow day by contacting the main office. Registration for new families begins the last week of January for the upcoming school year and remains open until the class is at capacity. We encourage families to request placement on the waitlist if enrollment is not currently available. Families will be notified on a first come, first served basis as openings occur.
OLV offers a wide range of activities to enrich the curriculum. As part of the school week, all students, K-Grade 8, learn Spanish, participate in physical education, art, and music classes, and use technology. Grades 6-8 are 1:1 with Chrome Books; lower grades have classroom sets of tablets and access to Chrome Book carts that are used to enhance the curriculum. Our athletic program includes interscholastic basketball for grades 5-8 and interscholastic cross country for Grades 4-8. Track and tennis have been offered as well as ski club. In addition to athletics, OLV offers a variety of club activities after school for students in K-Grade 8. Offerings vary by season, year, and interest. Recently, OLV has offered yoga, chess, yearbook, student council, National Junior Honor Society, and math club for our older students, while our younger students have participated in walking, science, and Lego clubs.
The staff, administration, families, and members of the cluster parishes are keenly aware of the benefits that a strong, mutually respectful community brings to all of its members. All parents are members of our Parents’ Guild, which focuses on community building activities and fundraising. Parents are welcome to volunteer in the classrooms, assist with lunch duty, attend classroom events, chaperone field trips, attend school masses, and plan special classroom activities.
Students in K-Grade 8 who are Uxbridge residents are eligible for busing and may make arrangements for transportation through the Uxbridge Public Schools.
Uniforms, gym uniforms, and fleece wear are available through Lands’ End. OLV also has a uniform closet where parents may exchange outgrown uniforms for a more applicable size. Donations are also welcome.
